About the Role

Key Responsibilities
- Create and implement category strategies aimed at driving sustainable growth.
- Increase sales, profitability, and overall performance of assigned categories.
- Oversee ranging, pricing, and promotional activities.
- Establish and nurture strategic supplier partnerships to secure commercially advantageous arrangements.
- Optimize inventory management, forecasting, and stock performance.
- Identify new market opportunities and spearhead continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with Planning, Supply Chain, Operations, and Marketing teams to achieve outstanding results.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is more than a manager; they possess commercial curiosity, influence, and a drive to create real impact rather than maintain the status quo.
- Experience managing categories within retail, trade, or wholesale contexts (B2B, B2C, or both).
- Exposure to consumer or hard goods categories, regardless of specific sector (e.g., power tools, pet accessories, office products, automotive parts, consumer electronics).
- A strong commercial mindset focused on category growth, strategic influence, and measurable business outcomes.
- Keen commercial instincts to recognize overlooked opportunities.
- Confidence to challenge existing approaches and influence decision-making.
- Proven success in translating category strategies into tangible commercial results.
- Capability to build supplier relationships that yield sustainable value beyond better pricing.
- Intellectual curiosity to question processes and seek improvements.
- Judicious balance of data analysis, experience, and commercial intuition.
- Credibility to engage and influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- A sense of ownership treating categories as personal business ventures.
