Category Manager

Role overview

This is a permanent, full-time procurement leadership position based onsite in North Dublin. The role focuses on category management and strategic sourcing for a multi-site catering operation, with responsibility for shaping procurement plans, managing suppliers, and driving commercial performance across the Irish business.

What you'll do

• Create and execute a three-year category and procurement roadmap that supports wider business goals.
• Own the full strategic sourcing cycle, including supplier evaluation, selection, negotiation of agreements, and ongoing performance tracking.
• Spot savings opportunities, control procurement spend, and deliver clear commercial benefits.
• Develop effective working relationships with internal teams, suppliers, and dnata businesses internationally.
• Track market movements, supply exposure, and product availability, then put backup plans in place when needed.
• Contribute to product development, new business prospects, and sales tender submissions.
• Promote procurement governance, compliance, and best-practice standards across the organisation.
• Handle contract administration, supplier onboarding, and service level agreement management.

What the employer is looking for

• At least 3 years of experience in category buying and/or procurement.
• Strong commercial judgement, negotiation ability, and stakeholder management skills.
• Background in supplier management, contract handling, and procurement programme delivery.
• Solid analytical and financial capability, including working with KPIs and budgets.
• Experience using ERP platforms, strategic sourcing tools, and source-to-pay processes.
• A proactive and well-organised approach, with comfort working in a busy, fast-moving setting.
