Primary Responsibilities

  • Create and prepare detailed data summaries and analytical materials for meetings with customers.
  • Assist Category Development Managers with various ad hoc analysis requests related to customers.
  • Develop recaps evaluating performance before and after meetings.
  • Help design customer presentations supplemented with data charts and insights.
  • Analyze the effectiveness of promotions by measuring lift, return on investment, and subsequent performance outcomes.
  • Assess pricing strategies to understand elasticity, competitive positioning, and margin impacts.
  • Keep promotional trackers current to reflect planned versus actual activities.
  • Recognize risks and opportunities within promotional schedules and pricing tactics.
  • Continuously monitor competitive actions and category trends to inform promotional guidance.
  • Recommend optimal promotional approaches by evaluating different discount levels and promotional levers.
  • Track execution of SKU rationalization, monitoring alignment with planned objectives.
  • Support analysis and reporting related to the disposition of slow-moving and obsolete inventory.
  • Monitor assortment change compliance and distribution voids where relevant.
  • Contribute to assortment recommendations in collaboration with category managers.
  • Conduct ongoing competitive advertisement tracking across all sales channels.
  • Observe shifts in competitor pricing and promotional campaigns and report relevant trends.
  • Maintain tracking of new product launches, analyzing distribution, velocity, and overall performance.
  • Monitor post-launch metrics to identify potential risks or shortcomings.
  • Support post-launch performance evaluations and scorecard reporting.
  • Analyze syndicated data sources such as NielsenIQ, Circana, Numerator, alongside retailer POS and internal sales data.
  • Ensure dashboards and trackers are accurate, timely, and up to date.
  • Assist with monthly category insight reports, maintaining data integrity across all reporting platforms.

Qualifications and Skills

  • A bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Marketing, or a related discipline.
  • Between two and four years of professional experience in consumer packaged goods analytics, category management, sales analytics, or a similar field.
  • Familiarity with syndicated data platforms such as NielsenIQ and Circana.
  • Proficient in advanced Excel functions including pivot tables and lookups, with strong skills in PowerPoint.
  • Exceptional attention to detail combined with excellent organizational capabilities.
  • Ability to juggle multiple assignments efficiently within a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
