Kids Dream Ice Cream (KDIC) is a Liberian startup founded in 2019, now a subsidiary of the TALWA Group of Companies since 2023. It specializes in crafting delightful ice cream flavors and offers fast food, pastries, and a fun, safe ice cream parlor environment. KDIC is committed to promoting healthy lifestyles and social responsibility, providing safe recreation spaces for children and families. The company operates with around 16 direct employees and 12 indirect hires and distributes products across 17 locations in Montserrado and Margibi Counties.

Job Summary

The Cashier will efficiently handle customer transactions at the point of sale, deliver excellent customer service, maintain cleanliness of the front area, and assist with minor customer inquiries about the menu or policies. The candidate should be detail-conscious, friendly, and capable of managing busy periods professionally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Warmly greet customers and respond to menu-related questions.
  • Provide updates on daily specials and promotions.
  • Manage customer complaints tactfully and escalate when needed.
  • Process cash, card, and digital payments accurately, ensuring correct pricing and change.
  • Issue receipts and handle refunds or transaction voids appropriately.
  • Enter orders promptly and correctly into the POS system, communicating special requests to the kitchen team.
  • Maintain cash register balance, conduct opening and closing procedures, and secure deposits.
  • Track and apply discounts or coupons correctly.
  • Keep the counter, register, condiment stations, and dining area clean, organized, and well-stocked.
  • Inform customers about new products and promotions, encouraging upselling.
  • Collaborate closely with kitchen and service teams to ensure smooth operations and relay customer feedback.
  • Follow all company standards regarding cash handling, safety, food hygiene, and regulatory compliance.

Candidate Requirements

  • Minimum education: High school diploma or equivalent; a university degree in Accounting is advantageous.
  • Previous experience in cashier or customer service roles is beneficial but not mandatory.

Additional Information

  • Must be able to stand for extended periods while serving customers.
  • The role involves working in a dynamic environment with flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
  • May require assisting in other restaurant or parlor duties such as light cleaning or supporting other staff.
  • Essential skills include numerical accuracy, attention to detail, communication aptitude, interpersonal skills, and basic proficiency with POS systems and varying payment methods.
