About the Role

Joining Walmart Canada as a Cashier presents an excellent opportunity to enhance your retail experience. The Cashier plays a key role in delivering outstanding customer service during payment processing, which helps build customer loyalty. Additionally, the role involves vigilant loss prevention to protect company assets through strong attention to detail.

Primary Duties

• Warmly greet every customer to ensure a friendly shopping experience.
• Efficiently handle all purchase transactions, including merchandise deactivation aligned with the Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) program.
• Promote company-endorsed programs such as credit card services, product protection plans, and charitable initiatives.
• Support customers by bagging and assisting with loading purchased goods.
• Follow safe work protocols, such as proper lifting techniques and maintaining cleanliness at the workstation.
• Secure register operations by managing cash carefully and complying with company policies while staying alert to surroundings.
• Redirect customers to a Customer Service Manager for services or transactions beyond the cashier's scope.

Compensation

The hourly wage for this position starts at $18.40.

Minimum Requirements

• Applicants must be at least 16 years old.
