About the Role

We are seeking a passionate Barista who appreciates quality food and beverages alongside exceptional customer service to become a valuable member of our Tesco Café team. Whether customers are stopping by after shopping or meeting friends, you will ensure they enjoy excellent coffee, tea, and seasonal beverages that brighten their day.

You will apply your experience as a Barista or in hospitality, sharing knowledge and expertise with your teammates. At Tesco, delivering outstanding customer service is our priority, so you will stay informed about all menu items and updates, monitor stock levels regularly, and serve customers swiftly while accommodating any special requests.

Tesco Café is dedicated to fostering growth for all team members. You will take responsibility for supporting barista skill development and collaborate with the Café Manager to help colleagues expand their expertise. Additionally, you will utilize the Click and Learn portal along with other resources to complete training modules for personal growth. Please note applicants must be 18 years or older.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve a varied range of drinks quickly and accurately.
• Comply with food safety and hygiene standards to meet regulatory requirements.
• Regularly check stock levels and adhere to all company policies and procedures.
• Work alongside the Café Manager to identify and assist team members seeking to develop barista skills.
• Stay updated on Tesco communications, offers, new initiatives, and menu changes.
• Handle customer complaints promptly and effectively when possible.

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience working as a Barista or within a hospitality environment.
• Strong dedication to delivering excellent customer service.
• Confidence and ability to coach and train others inclusively.
• Good organizational and planning skills.
• Proactive with initiative to improve procedures and adapt to varied situations.
• Excellent communication skills to support coworkers and management.
