Job description
Job Overview
The Cabin Technician supports the Cabin Appearance Engineer by performing maintenance tasks related to aircraft cabin appearance. This includes inspections, repairs, testing, and replacing components on Air Arabia and third-party aircraft, ensuring all activities comply with company procedures and regulatory standards.
Primary Duties
- Review assigned task cards alongside the Cabin Appearance Engineer to understand work requirements, priorities, documentation, and precautions before starting.
- Assist in verifying the compatibility and availability of cabin appearance components according to approved standards.
- Conduct scheduled maintenance tasks as per task cards, ensuring correct parts, tools, and ground support equipment (GSE) are used according to instructions.
- Perform tests and inspections to identify and document any defects or damages following approved maintenance procedures.
- Complete all cabin appearance tasks adhering to approved data and guidance from the Engineer-in-Charge.
- Ensure all tools and equipment are prepared before tasks and returned in good condition afterwards.
- Keep the Engineer-in-Charge regularly informed about task progress and report any issues related to component conditions or work execution.
- Maintain high housekeeping standards in all maintenance activities.
Safety Responsibilities
- Manage safety during maintenance tasks by following all mandatory precautions before and during work.
- Take necessary actions to protect self and others nearby, including using appropriate protective equipment and GSE.
- Follow proper procedures regarding human factors, such as work interruptions, adequate access, and sufficient lighting for maintenance tasks.
Teamwork and Reputation
- Provide assistance and information to team members and personnel from other departments involved in scheduled maintenance.
- Maintain a professional and positive representation of Air Arabia when interacting with personnel from other companies and customers.
Cost Efficiency
- Remain aware of maintenance costs including labor and materials.
- Prevent unnecessary waste by avoiding damage and repeat work during maintenance operations.
Qualifications and Experience
- Certified and experienced Workshop Maintenance Technician.
- Proficient English language skills for technical communication in reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension.
- Competent in computer use, especially Microsoft Office applications.
- Capability to obtain a UAE Driver’s License.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in maintenance of large commercial aircraft, preferably Airbus models.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a Line Maintenance setting.
