Role Overview

As a Business Intelligence Analyst based in Toronto, you will play a crucial role within the Trade Marketing and Consumer & Market Insights (CMI) team. This strategic pillar acts as a communication bridge, relaying brand and category insights to Sales, and customer/local data to Marketing. Reporting directly to the Director of Operational Trade Marketing & CMI, you will collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain teams to leverage data-driven decision making.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize Nielsen/Circana data effectively to develop actionable market insights through monthly reports and scorecards.
• Lead comprehensive data analysis beyond routine reporting to uncover trends, underlying drivers, and growth opportunities.
• Manage large datasets with advanced skills in Power BI and Alteryx, converting complex information into understandable insights.
• Contribute actively in monthly Circana review meetings with senior leadership, delivering insightful and persuasive story-driven presentations.
• Communicate data findings clearly to cross-functional teams, translating analytics into compelling business stories.
• Act as a credible data and insights advisor to Sales, Marketing, and Leadership teams.
• Maintain accuracy and consistency in monthly Nielsen and Circana reports, driving insight-focused output.
• Oversee weekly updates of Power BI dashboards, ensuring they are automated, actionable, and decision-enabling in real-time.
• Provide evidence-based recommendations about product assortment, pricing, and promotional activities at major retailers.
• Exhibit strong analytical capabilities to interpret complex data and influence organizational decisions strategically.

Qualifications and Skills

• Proven experience working with Nielsen and Circana data sets.
• Category management background beneficial.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel including VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, IF/SUM formulas, and Index Matching; adept with keyboard shortcuts.
• Strong skills in Power BI and Alteryx for data preparation and visualization.
• Excellent communication skills with an ability to collaborate across multiple departments.
• Critical thinking and creative problem-solving abilities.
• Capacity to handle complex issues, prioritize effectively, and seek guidance when needed.
• Confidence in articulating ideas clearly to upper management with persuasive argumentation.
• Ability to nurture and manage complex working relationships.

Compensation and Benefits

• Annual base salary range between 70000 and 80000 CAD.
