Job description

Role Overview

As a Business Development Manager in Alberta, Canada, you will do more than just sell tires; you will forge enduring partnerships with mine operators, contractors, and fleet managers running around-the-clock operations in some of the planet's most challenging environments. This position offers a foundational opportunity to shape the Canadian market strategy while backed by a global manufacturer specializing in off-the-road (OTR) tires.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, cultivate, and close business opportunities within Canada's mining and heavy construction industries.
  • Establish and sustain long-term relationships with primary decision-makers at mining sites, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), and rental fleet operators.
  • Gather and analyze market intelligence regarding competitor actions, client fleet compositions, and purchasing cycles.
  • Collaborate with technical and logistics departments to provide customized tire solutions and comprehensive after-sales services.
  • Represent the company at industry functions, mining locations, and regional mining groups.

Candidate Profile

  • At least 8 years of established B2B sales or business development experience in mining, heavy equipment, or OTR tire sectors.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Canadian mining industry, including its key players, procurement methods, and corporate culture.
  • Highly self-motivated with a results-driven mindset, capable of working independently without supervision.
  • Proficient in English, both written and verbal; additional language skills are a bonus.
  • Must possess legal authorization to work in Canada.
  • Strong background in OTR tires is highly desirable, including understanding tire dimensions, use cases, total cost of ownership (TCO), and effects on fleet uptime.
  • An existing network within the Canadian mining operations arena is a major asset.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within Alberta and occasionally to company headquarters.
