About Singapore Pools

Established by the Singapore government in May 1968, Singapore Pools operates as a not-for-profit entity providing secure and trustworthy betting services to combat illegal gambling. The organisation contributes significantly to social causes through funds channelled to the Tote Board, amounting to over $5 billion since 2004. Annually, it also pays approximately $2 billion in taxes and duties to the Government and upholds the highest certification level for responsible gaming by the World Lottery Association since 2012. Staff members actively engage in community volunteer initiatives supporting underprivileged groups and environmental efforts.

Job Purpose

Under the supervision of the Assistant Manager, the BCC Operator is responsible for accurately updating raceday details and executing operational tasks following the Betting Control Centre's standard procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Timely cessation of sales and monitoring for irregularities during races, reporting to the BCC Executive accordingly.
  • Inputting provisional race results into the betting platform upon BCC Executive confirmation.
  • Ensuring precise and prompt updates of raceday information on the Web Portal.
  • Coordinating with the Data Centre team to halt sales as races begin.
  • Publishing race results on the corporate website after approval from the BCC Executive.
  • Executing withdrawal transactions after BCC Executive notification and verification.
  • Emailing meeting outcomes to publishers post-event.
  • Managing and organising racing data within the department’s shared storage regularly.

Candidate Profile

  • At least a GCE O-level qualification with a credit in English Language.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English fluently.
  • Comfortable utilizing computer applications such as MS Word and Excel.
  • Willing to work shift schedules, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
