Job Overview

This role involves preparing a wide range of coffee beverages including espresso-based drinks, drip coffee, and specialty options while delivering excellent customer service. The barista will be responsible for operating coffee machines and related equipment, managing cash transactions through POS systems, and maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the workspace.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve various coffee drinks with accuracy and quality.
• Welcome customers warmly and take precise orders.
• Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and other café appliances.
• Handle cash and operate point of sale systems efficiently.
• Keep the work area clean, following stringent food safety and sanitation rules.
• Suggest and promote coffee products and menu items to customers.
• Participate in inventory monitoring and restocking as needed.
• Work cooperatively with team members to ensure smooth cafe operations and superior customer service.
• Stay informed on coffee industry trends and educate customers accordingly.

Candidate Qualifications

• Minimum educational requirement: high school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience as a barista is preferred.
• Comprehensive knowledge of different coffee varieties, brewing techniques, and cafe processes.
• Skillful in managing espresso machines and coffee-related equipment.
• Exceptional customer service abilities with an approachable and friendly demeanor.
• Capability to perform effectively in a fast-paced setting.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
• Basic mathematics proficiency and experience handling cash transactions.
• Food safety certification is desirable.
• Ability to stand for long durations and lift items up to 25 pounds.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts including weekends and public holidays.
• Fluency in English is required; additional knowledge of Arabic or other languages is advantageous.
