Role overview
Tata Consultancy Services is seeking a Back End Developer in Bengaluru. The role focuses on building reliable server-side systems, working with modern JavaScript/TypeScript technologies, and supporting scalable application development in a cloud-based environment.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend services using Node.js and TypeScript.
- Work with backend frameworks such as NestJS, Express, or Fastify.
- Design and support REST and GraphQL APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
- Use AWS services and follow contemporary software delivery practices.
- Apply software engineering principles such as SOLID, DRY, KISS, and Clean Code.
- Use data structures, algorithms, and optimization techniques to improve performance.
- Implement secure authentication and authorization flows, including JWT and OAuth2/OIDC.
- Support API security, versioning, testing, Git-based workflows, CI/CD, and production troubleshooting.
- Use GenAI tools to improve coding speed, debugging, testing, documentation, and overall productivity.
- Analyze issues, solve problems effectively, and collaborate with teams across locations.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with Node.js and TypeScript.
- Practical exposure to backend frameworks such as NestJS, Express, or Fastify.
- Solid knowledge of APIs, microservices architecture, and distributed application design.
- Experience working with AWS cloud services and modern SDLC practices.
- Good understanding of secure authentication, authorization, and API protection concepts.
- Comfort with Git, CI/CD pipelines, unit testing, and supporting applications in production.
- Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and performance tuning.
- Ability to use GenAI tools responsibly for development and productivity tasks.
- Strong analytical thinking, troubleshooting ability, and independent working style.
- Capability to work effectively with distributed teams.
