About AECOM and Role Overview
At AECOM, a global leader in infrastructure consulting, we are dedicated to delivering projects that positively impact communities worldwide. As part of our London Project Management Team, the Associate Project Manager will oversee significant construction and built environment projects, especially focusing on social infrastructure estates transformations, heritage sites, fit-out, infrastructure, and engineering features. This role involves leading projects from start to finish, mentoring junior staff, fostering client relationships, and supporting business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full responsibility for delivering large-scale projects on time, within budget, and meeting quality standards.
- Promote effective collaboration among clients, contractors, consultants, and team members to ensure seamless project execution.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships by aligning project outcomes with their objectives and contributing to business expansion.
- Guide and support junior team members in career development and nurture a positive, high-performing team culture.
- Participate in business development activities, including bidding and industry networking, while proactively advancing personal professional growth and encouraging knowledge sharing.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Clearance eligibility for UK Central government checks.
- Extensive project management knowledge and experience in the construction or built environment sector.
- Ability to independently manage complex projects with limited supervision.
- Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills for handling major projects and diverse stakeholders.
- Proven leadership skills and client relationship management expertise.
- Passion for delivering excellent consulting services.
- Experience supervising junior resources and contributing to best-practice methodologies.
- History of involvement in work-winning efforts and proposal development.
- Solution-focused approach and flexibility in adapting to evolving project requirements.
- Capable of participating in team management functions such as line management and business development.
- Commitment to helping colleagues achieve professional qualifications like RICS, CIOB, or APM.
Qualifications
Possession of or commitment to attain recognized professional accreditations such as RICS, CIOB, or APM.
