Job Purpose
The Associate Manager, responsible for material handling equipment (MHE), lifts, and escalators, ensures smooth operation and maintenance of these assets. This includes managing preventive maintenance, repair workflows, safety adherence, spare parts provisioning, and continuous performance improvements to reduce downtime and enhance efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Enforce safety measures and comply with industry and environmental regulations.
- Oversee maintenance activities of MHE, lifts, and escalators to support seamless production and logistics.
- Develop and monitor preventive maintenance schedules to enhance equipment reliability and prevent unplanned halts.
- Lead urgent troubleshooting and repairs to minimize operational disruptions and maintain safe conditions.
- Manage spare parts inventory to guarantee timely availability of critical components, avoiding production delays.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance, repairs, inspections, and service reports using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Identify and implement opportunities for equipment performance enhancements, including energy efficiency and technology updates.
- Supervise installation and commissioning of new equipment ensuring proper integration with existing infrastructure.
Key Stakeholders
- Internal: Mechanical Leads, Control & Instrumentation Leads, Electrical Area Incharges, Electrical Leads, and Mechanical Shift Engineers.
- External: HVAC equipment vendors, maintenance service contractors, and industry associations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent disciplines.
- 8 to 10 years of hands-on experience in maintenance management focusing on MHE, lifts, and escalators, particularly within industrial or facilities management environments.
