Role Responsibilities

The Associate Clinical Research Coordinator works under the guidance of a principal investigator or supervisor to coordinate clinical research protocols that are non-therapeutic in nature, such as minimal risk studies involving surveys or chart reviews. Responsibilities include recruiting and enrolling research participants, monitoring study procedures and participant involvement, accurately recording research data, and conducting administrative and regulatory tasks pertinent to assigned studies. The coordinator may assist with more complex clinical research under supervision but does not have full accountability for therapeutic or interventional studies.

This role requires collaboration with various institutional departments, external research centers, and sponsors to address issues and ensure smooth study progression. The individual identifies and reports adverse events, protocol deviations, and other unexpected problems. Occasional travel may be necessary. The position may also involve protocol document management activities such as editing, amendments, coordinating study logistics, maintaining compliance with federal and institutional standards, submitting reports to Institutional Review Boards (IRB), and communicating with study sites and governmental agencies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with a minimum of three years of experience, or an associate degree, college diploma, or certificate with at least one year of relevant experience.
• An Associate’s degree specifically in Clinical Research from an accredited institution without experience is acceptable.
• A bachelor’s degree is also considered sufficient.
• Experience gained should preferably be in clinical environments or related fields.
• Completion of a study coordinator training program is advantageous.
• One year of prior clinical research experience is preferred.
• Coursework in medical terminology is desirable.

Compensation and Schedule

This position offers an hourly wage ranging from $26.52 to $39.32, with actual pay dependent on education, experience, tenure, and internal equity considerations. The role is full-time, requiring 80 hours per pay period, with regular weekday working hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

There is no weekend work or international assignment associated with this role.
