About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Analyst or Associate to enhance the performance of a diversified multifamily real estate portfolio based in Washington, DC. This role involves close collaboration with senior leadership, operating partners, property management teams, and internal stakeholders to advance portfolio strategy, property operations, financial analysis, capital projects, and investment decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the financial and operational performance of multifamily property investments.
  • Analyze monthly operating results, leasing data, market trends, budgets, and forecasts for insights.
  • Maintain detailed asset-level financial models, perform valuations, and conduct return analysis.
  • Identify and implement strategies to boost revenue, control expenses, and optimize investment returns.
  • Partner with property management teams to execute tailored business plans for assets.
  • Assist with the preparation of annual budgets, reforecasting, and strategic planning efforts.
  • Evaluate capital improvement projects, renovations, refinancing options, and potential dispositions.
  • Compile portfolio reports, investment updates, and provide recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Conduct thorough market research and competitive property comparison analyses.
  • Review and interpret operating agreements, loan contracts, and other investment documentation.
  • Support due diligence and facilitate the smooth integration of new property acquisitions into the portfolio.

Candidate Profile

  • Possesses 2 to 6 years of experience in real estate asset management, acquisitions, investment analysis, or similar areas.
  • Experience specifically within multifamily investment or asset management is highly preferred.
  • Strong skills in financial modeling, valuation methodologies, and analytical problem-solving.
  • Highly proficient with Excel; familiarity with real estate investment software is an advantage.
  • In-depth understanding of property-level financial statements, operational metrics, and calculating investment returns.
  • Ability to translate complex analyses into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent communication, organizational aptitude, and ability to manage stakeholder relationships.
  • A proactive mindset with a sense of ownership and capability to balance multiple competing priorities.
