Role overview
This opportunity is with a company operating in the energy sector that is expanding its team in Singapore’s North region. The business is seeking an Assistant Sales Manager to help strengthen and grow its existing high-performing sales function, with a focus on EV charging and sustainable energy solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business by introducing EV charging and clean energy offerings to both prospective and existing clients.
- Study market developments, customer expectations, and competitor moves to shape effective sales strategies.
- Create sales plans and spot new growth areas that can help the business achieve revenue targets.
- Foster long-term client relationships by understanding operational needs and proposing suitable technical and commercial options.
- Draft and deliver tailored proposals, quotations, and solution presentations that address customer requirements.
- Handle tender preparation, sales paperwork, and contract-support documents, and assist with commercial discussions when needed.
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure a seamless transition from order confirmation to project delivery.
- Track project status, respond to customer queries, and work through issues to maintain a strong customer experience.
- Support marketing and business development efforts through client meetings, product demos, and promotional initiatives.
- Take part in process improvement efforts to improve sales productivity, customer service, and overall business outcomes.
- Carry out other duties assigned from time to time.
Requirements
- A diploma in Engineering, Business, or a closely related field is required.
- At least 5 years of experience in technical sales, business development, or solution selling within a similar environment, along with people management exposure or experience.
- Experience with tender preparation, project coordination, or solution-led selling will be advantageous.
- Strong skills in presentation, communication, negotiation, and managing customer or stakeholder relationships.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, DWG files, or technical drawings will be a plus.
- Willingness to travel around Singapore for customer visits and business development work.
