Job Summary
The Assistant Manager (Shift Engineer - Cluster - Wetline) is responsible for overseeing production flow and the machine operators on the shop floor. This includes training and deployment of operators, creating SOPs, checklists, and managing equipment and material movements to ensure smooth and safe production aligned with the production plan.
Key Responsibilities
- Enforce safety standards during shift operations by implementing protocols, conducting safety audits, delivering training, and swiftly addressing compliance issues.
- Manage and optimize production throughput to achieve or exceed set production targets.
- Apply continuous improvement tools like 5S, Kaizen, and Poka Yoke to maintain safety and machine readiness according to SOPs.
- Lead Quality Control Circles (QCC) and initiatives to reduce costs and improve operational efficiency; ensure product quality meets specifications.
- Gather and analyze production data to generate Management Information System (MIS) reports for decision-making.
- Train and supervise operators, promoting a culture of safety on the shop floor.
- Collaborate internally with Cluster Managers, Technicians, Operators, and Quality Control Inspectors; liaise externally with equipment suppliers and maintenance service providers.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering (BE/B.Tech).
- 2 to 5 years' experience in semiconductor or solar manufacturing, especially with wet chemical processing and relevant equipment operation, including PCB manufacturing exposure.
