About the Role
The Assistant Housekeeping Manager plays a crucial role supporting the Executive Housekeeper in managing the daily housekeeping operations at Miraval The Red Sea. The position involves leading and supervising the housekeeping team, which includes room attendants, public area cleaners, and laundry staff. The manager ensures the upkeep of cleanliness, hygiene, and maintenance standards throughout guest rooms and public spaces while providing outstanding guest service. Efficiency, brand standards, and safety compliance are key focal points.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and assist in managing housekeeping operations across rooms and public areas.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with other departments.
- Support budgeting processes, housekeeping projects, and uplift departmental standards and performance.
- Provide training, guidance, and performance evaluations to housekeeping personnel.
- Conduct daily briefings and clearly assign tasks to staff members.
- Supervise cleanliness inspections of guest rooms and public spaces, ensuring maintenance requirements are met.
- Manage housekeeping supplies and inventory control.
- Coordinate operations with Front Office, Engineering, and other relevant departments.
- Assist with staff scheduling and payroll record management.
- Contribute to departmental budget management and cost control initiatives.
- Prepare reports related to room status, lost and found items, and maintenance issues.
- Enforce health, safety, and sanitation standards, participating in quality audits and executing corrective measures.
- Support sustainability efforts as applicable.
- Handle guest complaints and special requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure that room preparation meets guest expectations and brand standards.
Qualifications and Skills
- Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management or a related discipline is preferred.
- Between 2 to 4 years of supervisory experience in housekeeping, ideally within a hotel or resort environment.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficient in English; additional language skills are advantageous.
- Familiarity with housekeeping management systems and property management software.
- Highly attentive to detail with strong organizational and time management capabilities.
Physical Requirements and Work Conditions
- The role demands extended periods of walking, standing, bending, and using stairs during shifts.
- Capability to lift or transport items weighing up to 25 kilograms as necessary.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
