Assistant Accountant

About the Role

Voyages Indigenous Tourism Australia provides experience-based holidays in stunning wilderness settings, including locations such as Ayers Rock Resort in the Red Centre and Mossman Gorge in tropical Queensland. This Assistant Accountant position is based at the Sydney office, a central support hub for operational teams at these locations.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile booking system data to ensure the accurate transfer of financial information into Business Central (BC); investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist with month-end closing by preparing and posting journals, accruals, prepayments, and other necessary accounting adjustments.
• Maintain and prepare reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, ensuring items are investigated and cleared promptly.
• Support daily finance tasks such as bank reconciliations to ensure accurate financial management.

Requirements

• Previous experience as an Assistant Accountant.
• CA or CPA qualification completed or in progress.
• Familiarity with Business Central (BC) accounting software; experience with Opera PMS, Shiji POS, and Rezdy is advantageous.
