Key Responsibilities

  • Be the primary and knowledgeable point of contact for customers at Joe Duffy Athlone requiring vehicle servicing or repairs.

  • Handle all service inquiries via telephone and walk-ins professionally.
  • Assess and diagnose service requirements and vehicle running issues where applicable.
  • Discuss and confirm with customers the scope of work to be performed.
  • Monitor workshop capacity and input all relevant information into the service workshop scheduling system.
  • Oversee the handover process and administration of Customer Service Vehicles, providing clear explanations of completed work to customers for their understanding and approval.
  • Address customer dissatisfaction by liaising with department managers and following established dealership procedures.
  • Adhere strictly to manufacturer brand service standards and safety regulations.
  • Maintain up-to-date product knowledge and ensure accuracy in system records at all times.

Applicant Requirements

  • Impeccable personal appearance suitable for a professional corporate environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication capabilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail when recording information.
  • Ability to successfully promote additional related services and accessories (‘up-sell’).
  • Capacity to understand and interpret technical information, conveying it effectively to customers.

Preferred Experience

Previous background in customer service, telesales, retail sales, or customer contact roles is highly desirable. While prior motor industry knowledge is not mandatory, a keen interest and understanding of the motor trade are important.

Training and Development

The role includes a tailored six-month trainee program covering Joe Duffy Group's processes, database management, marketing, customer service, and aftersales skills. Training includes mentorship, observation of experienced advisors, classroom teachings, and brand-specific instruction.
