Accountant (Night Shift)

Ampstek is an international IT consulting and staffing firm delivering specialized talent solutions across markets in the UK, Europe, the US, and beyond. We are expanding our Finance department and seeking a proficient Accountant to work night shifts from our Coimbatore office.

Role Overview

This role entails managing comprehensive accounting activities aligned with US/Western time zones during night hours. The candidate will handle accounts receivable and payable processes, bank reconciliations, GST and VAT compliance, and maintain financial records using QuickBooks and Xero.

Key Duties

• Oversee end-to-end Accounts Receivable, including invoicing, billing cycles, collections, and aging analysis tailored to staffing-specific billing scenarios such as client timesheets and contractor pay rates.
• Manage full Accounts Payable operations covering vendor invoice approvals, expense coding, and payment execution while ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Conduct daily and monthly bank reconciliations across various bank accounts and currencies, including merchant and credit card accounts, and inter-company postings.
• Prepare journal entries and support month-end and year-end closing tasks maintaining the general ledger's accuracy.
• Administer GST and VAT statutory compliance by preparing monthly and quarterly filings and supporting international VAT returns.
• Collaborate with external auditors, tax consultants, and Chartered Accountants during audits.
• Maintain accounting records via QuickBooks (online and desktop) and Xero platforms, including integration of payroll, time-tracking, and ATS data.
• Generate comprehensive financial reports to assist management decision-making.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or related fields (B.Com/M.Com preferred).
• 2 to 3 years of core accounting experience, especially within the staffing, recruitment, or outsourcing sectors.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks (Online/Desktop) and Xero is essential.
• Strong knowledge of AR, AP, bank reconciliations, general ledger accounting, and GST/VAT compliance.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
• Fluent verbal and written English communication skills.
• Availability to work full-time night shifts at the Coimbatore location.

• Experience managing multi-country accounting operations.
• Understanding of payroll accounting and contractor billing processes.
• Familiar with financial workflows in staffing and recruitment.
• Experience integrating ERP or ATS systems with accounting platforms.
