About the Role
Genesis is focused on building better energy outcomes for Aotearoa New Zealand, and this position contributes to that direction by supporting commercial and industrial customers. The role is centred on relationships, commercial insight, and finding practical ways to create value for customers and the business.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Manage and develop a portfolio of commercial and industrial customers through strong, trusted partnerships.
- Look for opportunities to deepen customer relationships with tailored energy solutions and related products or services.
- Run regular customer reviews to stay aligned with changing business needs and deliver solutions that produce lasting value.
- Assist with new business opportunities and RFP responses, partnering with internal teams to win new customers and ensure a smooth onboarding process.
- Keep CRM records accurate, including customer details, sales activity and forecasts, while supporting ongoing team improvements.
Work Location and Travel
This position can be based in either Auckland or Hamilton. Regional travel will be required as needed to maintain customer relationships and support commercial outcomes.
What You’ll Need
The right person will enjoy building authentic customer relationships, be curious about how businesses work, and feel comfortable in a fast-moving commercial setting. Success in this role will come from being resilient, adaptable and focused on strong customer and team results.
Experience and Knowledge
- Background in account management, business development, or another customer-facing commercial role.
- Confidence working with different stakeholders and building trust and influence.
- Ability to understand customer problems and spot ways to add value.
- Strong resilience and adaptability when priorities shift or demands change.
- Commercial awareness with the ability to recognise growth opportunities.
- Good organisation, strong attention to detail, and practical CRM experience.
- A full New Zealand driver’s licence and willingness to travel regularly across the region.
- Experience in the energy sector would be an advantage, though it is not required.
