Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Yard Person to join our team at Ballymore, working at our residential developments located in London City Island and Good Luck Hope, specifically at Canning Town (E16). This is a full-time, permanent position averaging 40 hours per week, with a shift schedule from Wednesday to Sunday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The hourly wage is £13.85.

Primary Duties

• Maintain the external grounds and building exteriors of the estate to a consistently high standard.
• Provide excellent customer service to all residents encountered during work.
• Adhere to Ballymore Group’s policies, company rules, and quality standards as a contributing member of the Estate Team.
• Wear the company uniform correctly, maintaining a professional appearance at all times.
• Display appropriate Health & Safety signage and follow required safety procedures.
• Water plants and maintain cleanliness of all external pathways, roads, flower beds, and gardens; regularly clear litter and cigarette butts.
• Remove cobwebs from railings, benches, fencing, lobbies, and door canopies.
• Clean and polish steel fittings such as signage, bollard lights, and handrails.
• Clean, tidy, and disinfect bin rooms, removing all disposed items promptly.
• Conduct pressure washing tasks as needed.
• Keep water features free of leaves and rubbish, following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Ensure car parks are free of litter and apply degreaser when required.
• Clean all areas and vertical surfaces on schedule and according to specifications.
• Water landscaping as directed by the Line Manager.
• Perform lower-level window cleaning when necessary.
• Attend meetings with the Line Manager and team members.
• Report any damage, defects, or maintenance issues such as faulty equipment, light bulb replacements, trip hazards immediately to the Line Manager.
• Maintain equipment in good working condition and report any faults.
• Assist with additional tasks or duties assigned by the Line Manager.

Requirements

• Prior experience as a Yard Person or Cleaner at residential housing developments is essential.
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
• Strong communication skills are required.
