Role Overview
Join Arriva as a Workshop Cleaner in Luton, where you will play a vital role in maintaining cleanliness, safety, and organisation within our engineering workshop. This position helps ensure the workplace remains professional and secure for all teams.
Key Duties
- Perform general cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting workshop floors, offices, welfare areas, and communal spaces.
- Sanitise and clean workshop tools, machinery, and equipment as needed.
- Empty waste bins and correctly dispose of rubbish following company and environmental policies.
- Maintain and replenish washrooms, toilets, and changing areas to a high standard.
- Report any maintenance concerns, hazards, or damaged equipment to the Workshop Supervisor promptly.
- Use and store cleaning materials and equipment safely according to guidelines.
- Adhere strictly to company health and safety rules and protocols.
- Help organise and move workshop materials and parts when required.
- Consistently uphold exceptional cleanliness and housekeeping standards in assigned areas.
Candidate Profile
- Previous experience in cleaning, preferably in an industrial, engineering, or workshop setting is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with cleaning agents and their safe application.
- Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive attitude.
- Strong awareness of health and safety standards.
- Physically capable of manual cleaning duties and lifting moderate loads.
- Dependable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- Good communication skills and ability to understand and follow instructions.
