Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate on negotiating and implementing enterprise agreements.
- Provide expert advice on wages and entitlements governed by the Fair Work Act and related laws, including contract law.
- Manage relationships with unions and facilitate alternative dispute resolutions.
- Engage in projects such as mergers and acquisitions and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to the development of policies with an industrial focus.
- Offer support to Employment Relations colleagues, including handling case management overflow and litigation assistance.
About the Team and Role
Work alongside a group of four experienced Workplace Relations professionals who are passionate about growing expertise in employment law and committed to problem-solving across Calvary. This is a mid-level advisory role, not a leadership position, suited for professionals from corporate, union, advisory, payroll, legal, or people & culture backgrounds interested in advancing within this specialized field.
Candidate Profile
- At least 2 years of dedicated experience in Employment Relations, Industrial Relations, or Workplace Relations advisory roles, or a minimum of 4 years as a People & Culture Business Partner.
- Senior Payroll Specialists with strong interpretation and advanced Excel capabilities who wish to deepen their knowledge of enterprise agreements are encouraged to apply.
- Proven ability to interpret and apply Fair Work instruments such as Modern Awards and Enterprise Agreements.
- Sound understanding of Australian employment legislation including the Fair Work Act and Long Service Leave provisions.
- Intermediate proficiency with MS Excel to perform payroll and employment-related data audits and analyses.
- Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- A proactive, inquisitive mindset with strong research and problem-solving abilities.
- Innovative thinker eager to challenge traditional approaches.
- Strong organizational aptitude and competence across Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Compensation and Benefits
The remuneration package includes a base salary of $138,000 per annum, plus 12% superannuation and additional charity salary packaging benefits valued up to $6,000, effectively increasing take-home pay.
