Job Overview
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for managing and optimizing daily warehouse activities including receipt, storage, inventory control, and dispatch of materials. This position focuses on upholding quality, accuracy, safety, and adherence to compliance standards across all warehouse workflows. The role requires implementing structured processes to enhance operational efficiency, safeguard material handling, minimize losses, and support overall supply chain performance. Accurate documentation, ERP/SAP system support, traceability, and continuous improvements aligned with organizational goals such as safety, productivity, cost-effectiveness, and customer satisfaction are essential components of this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily warehouse operations covering receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods.
- Lead and guide the warehouse team including training, performance appraisal, and providing direction.
- Inspect incoming materials visually to confirm quality and detect transit damages.
- Ensure timely processing and verification of all inbound and outbound shipments along with related paperwork.
- Receive, unpack, validate, and store materials accurately within designated locations; maintain ERP/SAP records.
- Generate and maintain MIS reports such as tracking receipt versus consumption.
- Maintain effective bin management and inventory tracking systems.
- Ensure proper storage, preservation, and traceability of all inventory items.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety standards in the warehouse to reduce hazards.
- Manage non-conforming materials, including proper documentation and supplier return processes.
- Comply with health, safety, and security policies within warehouse operations.
- Coordinate material issuance to production teams, subcontractors, and end-users based on reservations.
- Track orders, coordinate deliveries, and manage job challan processing.
- Supervise inventory levels, reporting accuracy, and reconciliation.
- Support inventory stock audits, perpetual inventory checks, and manage write-offs with necessary approvals.
- Implement and maintain Safety protocols and 5S methodology consistently.
- Oversee warehouse machinery operation and ensure preventive maintenance and safety inspections.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners effectively.
- Champion the organization’s core values focusing on safety and integrity in all warehouse functions.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant internal and external regulations, standards, and procedures.
Candidate Profile
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering.
- 3 to 5 years total work experience, including at least 2 years specifically in warehouse operations.
- Comprehensive understanding of warehouse logistics including inbound, storage, inventory control, stock management, receiving, and dispatch practices.
- Experienced in working with ERP/SAP systems, ideally familiar with PS, MM, and SD modules.
- Strong skills in planning, scheduling, analytical thinking, decision-making, and communication.
- Ability to maintain detailed accuracy in documentation and reporting tasks.
- Knowledge of safety standards and 5S principles and experience implementing compliance measures.
- Preferred exposure to prominent logistics or industrial firms such as ABB, GE, Siemens, Alstom, Schneider, Mahindra Logistics, Allcargo, or GXO Logistics.
- Proficient in spoken and written English communication.
