Role Overview

The Vice President - Delivery will serve as a senior leader managing the Learning Delivery function within one of Emeritus’ business lines. This position leads teams responsible for providing a seamless, premium learner experience on a global scale, overseeing the entire learner journey from program launch to completion, including live learning, educator supervision, and assessment management. The role demands strategic operational expertise, leadership of large multinational teams, development of scalable models, and emphasis on continuous enhancement through process excellence, technology integration, and data analytics. A critical mandate includes transforming delivery operations by embedding automation and AI, fostering innovation to reimagine scalable delivery models beyond efficiency improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Delivery function strategically, ensuring integrated and consistent delivery of learner-facing and back-end operations across all regions and programs.
  • Develop and execute a clear vision, operating methodology, and strategic roadmap for the Delivery team.
  • Cultivate a culture driven by innovation, with AI and automation as foundational components of operational models.
  • Build scalable processes to support growth while sustaining outstanding learner experiences.
  • Align Delivery teams to a cohesive operating framework emphasizing ownership, accountability, and service quality.
  • Standardize academic delivery practices to maintain uniform readiness, program health, and learner satisfaction.
  • Steer the AI and automation agenda by identifying high-impact processes for technology interventions and collaborating with technical teams for solution deployment.
  • Continuously refine end-to-end delivery processes with a focus on increasing efficiencies and reducing manual workloads through automation.
  • Lead initiatives aimed at resolving operational bottlenecks, improving delivery performance, learner outcomes, and ensuring business continuity.
  • Oversee all learner lifecycle operations to ensure superior quality and consistency from program initiation to certification.
  • Define and track core performance metrics such as productivity gains via AI, learner satisfaction scores, completion, engagement rates, assessment turnaround times, and quality standards.
  • Act as a trusted delivery partner in strategic discussions with business leaders and university collaborators, reinforcing the function's strategic importance.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum bachelor's degree; master’s degree or MBA preferred.
  • Over 15 years of leadership in large-scale operations, service delivery, academic or learning operations primarily within fast-growing organizations.
  • At least 8 years managing extensive, geographically diverse teams.
  • Documented success in implementing large-scale automation or AI projects that demonstrably reduced manual tasks or turnaround times.
  • Fluency in working with product and engineering teams to evaluate AI use cases and balance technical trade-offs.
  • Experience managing multiple operational units with comprehensive accountability.
  • Expertise in designing scalable operational frameworks, governance, and process standardization.
  • Proven capability in operational transformation using data-driven insights, automation, and technology upgrades.
  • Strong stakeholder management across disciplines and excellent communication skills.
  • Leadership presence to influence at all organizational levels.
  • Prior experience in EdTech, Higher Education, Professional Education, or technology-enabled learning services is highly advantageous.
  • Familiarity with LMS platforms, CRM systems, workflow automation, dashboards, and AI-driven operational solutions is desirable.
