Transportation Broker Associate

Overview

We are looking for a driven entry-level Transportation Broker Associate to join our energetic freight brokerage team. This role is essential for fostering robust relationships with carriers, optimizing truckload capacity, and delivering outstanding service to customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of carrier networks, customer supply chains, and freight market trends, along with proven skills in establishing strategic partnerships and cost-effective solutions. The Associate will own the full lifecycle of carrier relationships, including strategic sourcing, capacity planning, cost management, and service delivery. Collaboration with operations, sales, and customer service teams is vital, along with maintaining high responsiveness, strategic insight, and market knowledge. This position also functions as a crucial escalation point for carrier issues, providing 24/7 support to ensure seamless service continuity.

Key Responsibilities

• Gain and sustain in-depth knowledge of strategic freight carriers' daily truck capacities and network capabilities.
• Align with customers' supply chain functions, service demands, and emerging initiatives to secure favorable outcomes.
• Lead carrier prospecting, onboarding, negotiations, and relationship building to develop enduring partnerships.
• Act as the main escalation contact for carrier development concerns, maintaining 24/7 accountability and support.
• Maintain ongoing communication with carriers and internal teams via phone, actively engaging in phone queues.
• Implement and uphold brokerage Standard Operating Procedures and protocols.
• Control and reduce carrier expenses through both immediate and long-term contract strategies.
• Participate in on-call rotations, which include after-hours, holiday, and weekend duties as required.
