Position Overview
Groome Industrial Services is recruiting a Superintendent to manage and oversee project operations effectively.

Key Responsibilities
- Organize and initiate project start-up and crew mobilization.
- Oversee multiple projects concurrently through site visits, phone communication, and digital reporting tools.
- Track production progress, manpower allocation, schedules, equipment usage, and overall project status.
- Recognize and document change orders, scope modifications, delays, and extra work opportunities.
- Collaborate with the Scheduling Manager to coordinate manpower and equipment requirements.
- Support project closeout activities including punch lists and final inspections.
- Enforce strict adherence to company safety standards and OSHA regulations.
- Conduct safety audits, identify violations, and implement corrective measures promptly.
- Maintain Environmental Health & Safety documentation and calibrated safety equipment.
- Perform quality assurance and quality control inspections ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards (AMPP/SSPC).
- Keep precise QP-1 documentation, inspection records, and quality reports.
- Prepare daily Superintendent reports covering production, safety, quality, manpower, equipment, and project progress.
- Maintain accurate project records using company reporting software (TruQC).
- Communicate consistently with management on project updates, scheduling, and client concerns.
- Participate actively in customer meetings, pre-construction sessions, and project planning.
- Assist estimating teams with field take-offs and pre-bid site evaluations as needed.
- Coordinate subcontractor activities efficiently.
- Manage surplus materials and monitor equipment usage.
- Carry out additional tasks as assigned.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of 7 years' experience in industrial sandblasting and protective coatings.
- Preferred 3 or more years serving as a superintendent.
- Strong expertise in industrial coatings, surface preparation, OSHA rules, and AMPP standards.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and organizational skills with a problem-solving mindset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, tablets, and electronic reporting platforms.
- Valid driver’s license enabling extensive travel obligations.

Physical and Travel Requirements
- Capable of extensive travel, frequently overnight, across the United States.
- Able to climb ladders, scaffolding, and industrial structures safely.
- Capacity to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working in confined spaces, at heights, and in varied weather conditions.
- Use and wear required personal protective equipment.
- Able to stand and walk for prolonged time periods.
- Maintain accessibility during business hours via company-issued phone, tablet, and laptop, and promptly respond to communications.
