Overview
The Store Manager is accountable for managing all aspects of store operations, focusing on service quality and merchandising standards. This role drives business initiatives by effectively coaching and leading the store team to meet performance goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead customer service excellence for both in-store and online shoppers.
- Encourage employees to greet customers enthusiastically and maintain positive attitudes.
- Engage customers proactively by recognizing their needs and responding suitably.
- Inform customers about current promotions and product offerings to assist purchasing decisions.
- Recommend additional products that complement customers’ selections.
- Foster a supportive, enjoyable, and engaging workplace for the team and valuable shopping experience for customers.
- Maintain the company brand by treating customers and colleagues respectfully and professionally; ensure compliance with company policies and protect assets.
- Monitor and achieve performance targets and business benchmarks.
- Utilize objective business analyses to guide decision-making processes.
- Identify underlying issues through trend observation and implement effective solutions.
- Recruit and network within the market to maintain adequate staffing and make informed hiring choices.
- Develop high-performing teams aligned with company objectives and build strong relationships across locations and industry peers.
- Hold team members accountable for both individual and group performance standards.
- Model company values and ensure respectful and professional treatment among team members.
- Communicate strategic changes and business opportunities clearly to the team and supervisors.
- Support company initiatives through clear, commitment-building communication.
- Proactively identify and act upon store improvement opportunities consistent with company strategies.
- Implement business changes promptly to enhance results.
- Travel occasionally to other stores and corporate offices for meetings.

Qualifications & Requirements
- College education preferred; 1-3 years' management experience in retail is desirable.
- Motivated, results-driven, competitive, and success-oriented mindset.
- Ability to understand and interpret safety regulations, operating procedures, and manuals.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Availability to work weekends, holidays, and evening shifts.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Capable of securely transporting company funds to designated bank locations following company protocols.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Physical ability to climb ladders for stocking or hanging displays.
- Regular movement around the store is required to assist customers and manage inventory.
- Effective communication with customers via in-person, electronic, and telephone methods.
- Capable of frequently handling merchandise weighing 50 pounds or more moving between stock and sales floor.
- Skilled in operating Point of Sale systems, registers, and handheld devices accurately and efficiently.
