Role Overview and Responsibilities
The Stock Controller will be responsible for managing stock transfers between warehouses and stores efficiently, ensuring all movements are accurately recorded to minimize discrepancies. This role demands oversight of warehouse audits, stock counts, and the resolution of any discrepancies identified. The incumbent is expected to report on stock levels, delivery updates, pending orders, and handle claims related to damaged or short merchandise items. Proper adjustment of defective stock following company policy is also a key responsibility.
The Stock Controller will coordinate the annual stock take schedule in collaboration with the Operations and Store Managers, communicating plans clearly and ensuring full compliance. They will supervise the physical stock take process, monitoring adherence to required policies and procedures. Additionally, they are tasked with reviewing stock take results alongside finance and operations specialists, reconciling stock figures, and preparing detailed reports with actionable recommendations.
Managing stock loss action plans based on stock counts and ensuring their implementation is part of the role. Moreover, overseeing goods shipments while coordinating with the Italy-based EZ team and logistics partners is essential to guarantee timely deliveries to stores. The position also involves leadership duties such as guiding, training, appraising, and motivating staff to realize their potential.
