About the Role

Are you passionate about architecture, design, interiors, and exceptional products? Do you enjoy engaging with people and contributing to beautiful spaces through meaningful connections? Our company is seeking a Specification Consultant/Manager in Auckland to build lasting relationships with architects, interior and kitchen designers. This role focuses on becoming a trusted advisor for product guidance and specification assistance within the local design community.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and nurture important relationships with specification professionals, becoming their preferred source for product information, sample requests, and support, and securing invitations for comprehensive product presentations at design firms.
  • Identify prospective projects by leveraging industry resources and personal networks, creating a targeted pipeline and sharing crucial updates with the specification, sales, and supply teams.
  • Monitor project specifications from initiation to completion, ensuring continued inclusion of products and maintaining communication with key stakeholders throughout the process.
  • Advocate for our brands by representing at trade shows, networking gatherings, and through educational outreach; additionally, assist in sourcing appealing imagery, case studies, and keeping client libraries and samples updated and prominent.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience within interiors or construction industries, preferably with emphasis on architecture, design, and sales.
  • Proven success in a comparable role with a track record of meeting objectives.
  • Established networks and contacts within the architectural, design, or interiors sectors.
  • Insightful understanding of specifiers' motivations and requirements to perform effectively.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Positive attitude and readiness to contribute proactively to team goals.
  • Strong self-management skills to prioritize responsibilities and confidently manage assigned regions or accounts.
  • Persistence and determination to secure project specifications and overcome challenges.
