About the Role

Have you ever observed warehouse operations and thought there must be a more effective way to handle tasks? At Automate-X, we specialize in transforming warehouse processes through robotics, intelligent software, and state-of-the-art automation technology to overcome operational challenges. As we expand, we seek a Solution Engineer based in Auckland to join our dynamic team and contribute to our ongoing success.

Role Overview

This role goes beyond drawing or routine tasks. You will collaborate with internal teams to grasp customer needs, analyze their workflows and data, challenge existing processes, and design automation solutions that significantly boost productivity. Your responsibilities include engineering solutions such as AMR implementations and goods-to-person concepts, partnering with global technology providers, and presenting directly to customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate in interpreting and understanding client requirements and operational methods.
  • Analyze workflows and data to identify opportunities for automation.
  • Design and develop practical automation solutions to enhance material handling and productivity.
  • Present engineered solutions to customers and engage with global technology partners.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative warehouse automation projects.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Over three years' experience in roles such as Automation Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or Application Engineer.
  • Hands-on experience within warehouse automation, intralogistics, or industrial automation systems, including AMRs, AGVs, robotics, conveyors, or material handling.
  • Proficiency with WES/WCS platforms and knowledge of automation system integration.
  • Ability to use AutoCAD effectively along with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven capability to convert customer needs into practical solutions regarding material flow, throughput, and capacity.
  • Ability to interpret technical documents including mechanical and electrical drawings and specifications.
  • Collaborative mindset, capable of working with clients, technology partners, and engineering teams to develop pioneering automation solutions.

This role requires candidates to hold unrestricted working rights in New Zealand, with preference given to those eligible to work in Australia as projects span both countries.
