Small Plant Operator

Overview

If you enjoy outdoor work and take pride in your efforts, this opportunity as a Small Plant Operator within the Whitianga Horticulture Team may be ideal. This is a casual role reporting to the Team Manager, focused on green space upkeep across multiple locations in Whitianga and Mercury Bay.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct general maintenance of green spaces, primarily edging using a weed eater.
• Participate in training and occasionally assist with facilities management and rubbish collection.
• Support the team with planting, weeding, and spraying activities.
• Ensure safety standards are maintained for the public, colleagues, and yourself.

Candidate Profile

• Preferably, experience operating small plant equipment or similar roles.
• A strong work ethic combined with enthusiasm for outdoor tasks.
• Current full driver's license with manual transmission proficiency.
• Ability to take responsibility while collaborating effectively within a team.
• Physically capable of performing demanding activities.
• Understanding of relevant health and safety procedures.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Highly motivated with a commitment to completing assigned tasks.
