About Our Team

AskOtago serves as the University of Otago's central hub for inquiries. As part of this team, you will provide essential assistance to students, staff, visitors, and other users regarding university-related queries about campus life and work.

Role Overview

We are seeking motivated and energetic individuals to join as Service Representatives. You'll engage in a busy, multifaceted environment, focusing on delivering outstanding customer experiences through multiple communication channels. Understanding each customer's unique situation allows you to provide tailored solutions promptly to maximize first-contact resolution.

AskOtago is the university's initial contact point for a diverse audience including current and prospective students, staff, alumni, visitors, and the community at large. The role involves addressing a broad spectrum of questions and directing customers to the appropriate university resources and support services.

Recruitment Process

Applications undergo assessment through the recruitment system, which may include a skills test and reference checks if applicable. The final recruitment step involves participating in an assessment centre.

Additional Details

  • Multiple openings are available.
  • Work schedule requires at least 15 hours weekly from April to October, with full-time hours (37.5 hours weekly) expected during January to March and November to December. Opportunities for additional full-time work exist in July.
  • The role's salary range is NZ$63,508 to NZ$68,185, with a top pro-rata salary of NZ$73,640.
  • To accommodate customer needs, shifts are rostered Monday through Saturday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm.
  • Applicants must have the legal right to live and work in New Zealand.
  • The University complies with the Children's Act 2014; finalists will undergo safety checks.
