Senior Software Engineer

Overview

The Senior Software Engineer will lead design, development, and support of enterprise software solutions aligned with Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University's digital transformation goals. This role emphasizes .NET applications, Student Information System (Ellucian Banner preferred), CRM platforms, contact center systems, and ERP integration, ensuring robust, scalable, and secure academic and administrative technology ecosystems within Dubai government and university compliance frameworks.

Primary Responsibilities

• Interpret functional and technical needs to create secure, scalable .NET-based applications following institutional policies.
• Develop, enhance, and maintain applications using C#, .NET Core, ASP.NET MVC, and API architectures.
• Implement and manage integrations with Student Information Systems, particularly Ellucian Banner or similar.
• Develop integrations with CRM systems such as Salesforce and ServiceNow.
• Support contact center and communication platform integrations, including Genesys Cloud, Microsoft Teams, and Twilio, facilitating omni-channel services.
• Design and engage with RESTful and SOAP web services, including secure single sign-on and identity integration.
• Support enterprise integrations involving HR, Finance, Procurement, and related institutional platforms.
• Utilize cloud-native services with AWS or Microsoft Azure, including managed services and CI/CD automation.
• Maintain system availability, performance, and reliability through monitoring, customization, and upgrades.
• Document technical designs, system workflows, and implementation procedures per institutional standards.
• Conduct thorough application testing—unit, integration, regression, and user acceptance—before production rollout.
• Provide second-level technical support to resolve application incidents and service requests.
• Ensure adherence to information security standards, ISMS, and government regulations, reporting issues through proper channels.
• Coordinate with infrastructure, cybersecurity, DevOps, vendors, and stakeholders to integrate solutions.
• Perform additional tasks assigned by management to support departmental and institutional aims.

Qualifications and Experience

• Eight to ten years of experience in enterprise software development focusing on .NET technologies.
• Proven integration experience with Student Information Systems, preferably Ellucian Banner.
• Demonstrated expertise in enterprise system integrations, APIs, and middleware.
• Hands-on experience with CRM platforms such as Salesforce and/or ServiceNow.
• Familiarity with contact center and communication tools like Genesys, Microsoft Teams, and Twilio is highly favorable.
• Exposure to ERP system integration is considered an asset.
• Experience with cloud platforms AWS or Microsoft Azure in live production environments.

Education and Certifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Strong professional background in .NET, C#, ASP.NET, and .NET Core development.
• Preferred certifications in AWS or Microsoft Azure.
• Additional certifications in enterprise systems or integration are advantageous.

Skills and Competencies

• Advanced knowledge of C#, .NET Core, ASP.NET MVC, RESTful APIs, and SOAP-based services.
• Experience working with Ellucian Banner or equivalent SIS platforms.
• Understanding of integration methodologies for Salesforce and ServiceNow.
• Knowledge of integration techniques for Genesys Cloud, Microsoft Teams, and Twilio platforms.
• Competence in cloud services deployment and security on AWS and Microsoft Azure.
• Strong database skills across SQL Server, Oracle, and MySQL.
• Understanding of application security, data privacy, and access management.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Ability to operate effectively within government or quasi-government institutions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; English required, Arabic preferred.
