About the Role

At WT, a leading New Zealand independent cost management and advisory firm, we have been empowering our clients for 25 years across building, construction, and infrastructure sectors. We are currently looking to hire an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to contribute to our growing project portfolio by operating across diverse build, construction, and property assignments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage and coordinate with clients, architects, and main contractors to ensure project alignment.
  • Identify and pursue new business prospects to support company growth.
  • Develop master plans and conduct feasibility budget analyses.
  • Perform detailed estimating and cost checking of evolving designs.
  • Apply value engineering techniques to optimize project outcomes.
  • Evaluate tenders and conduct thorough analyses.
  • Lead contract negotiation processes effectively.
  • Manage cash flow forecasting and procurement activities.
  • Deliver accurate and timely cost reporting throughout projects.
  • Assess variations and make payment recommendations accordingly.
  • Compile final account reports and prepare, present, negotiate, and settle claims as necessary.
  • Conduct investment analyses to inform decision-making.
  • Implement and refine benchmarking methods to enhance the consistency, precision, and efficiency of cost models and plans.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of seven years’ experience managing complex quantity surveying projects.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying.
  • Proficiency with cost estimating and planning software, particularly CostX.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent attention to detail coupled with strong organizational abilities.
