Job description
About Tracksuit
Tracksuit is a rapidly growing startup based in Australasia, partnering with over 1,000 renowned brands worldwide. We provide affordable, continuous brand tracking by leveraging tens of thousands of surveys monthly to capture genuine consumer insights about global brands and competitors.
We prioritize a diverse and inclusive work environment where individuality and growth mindset are valued more than fitting an exact job description. If you have the passion but lack certain experiences, we encourage you to apply.
Role Overview
The Senior Analytics Engineer role is integral to Tracksuit's data-driven culture, responsible for developing and maintaining the internal analytics platform that supports Product, Finance, and Go-To-Market teams across global operations. This position is based in Auckland, New Zealand, with an option for Sydney.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders in Finance, GTM, and Product to identify decision-making needs and create data solutions that directly impact business outcomes.
- Communicate data insights clearly and succinctly, simplifying complex models to deliver trusted metrics.
- Ensure high standards of data quality, reliability, and accuracy throughout the analytics platform.
- Manage and scale the core data infrastructure utilizing Snowflake and dbt, including integrations with HubSpot, Subskribe, and the company’s product database.
- Develop self-service data tools to empower teams to independently perform analysis without relying on ad hoc requests.
- Adapt to various tasks as needed in a dynamic, scaling environment, from advanced modeling to pipeline troubleshooting and mentoring junior colleagues.
Candidate Profile
- Able to engage effectively with senior executives and non-technical team members, challenging assumptions constructively and focusing on actionable insights.
- Results-oriented with a focus on the tangible impact of analytics work rather than just outputs.
- Collaborative and humble, sharing progress openly and valuing accuracy over personal recognition.
- Preference for simple, robust data models rather than unnecessarily complex solutions.
- Comfortable working in an ambiguous and rapidly changing startup environment, proactively addressing unglamorous but necessary tasks.
Experience and Skills
- A minimum of seven years working in data-related roles.
- Expert-level proficiency in SQL and dbt within Snowflake environments.
- Strong judgment in data modeling and experience managing end-to-end ELT pipelines and related infrastructure.
- Experience using AI-assisted tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot, with the ability to critically evaluate their outputs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Finance or GTM data modeling, such as revenue analytics, customer retention, or sales pipeline management.
- Background in B2B SaaS startups or scale-ups.
- Involvement in building or contributing to semantic or metrics layers in data platforms.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, IT, or a related analytical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive market-aligned salary with a transparent compensation framework.
- Employee Stock Ownership Plan participation for all employees.
- Generous wellbeing offerings including six weeks paid leave, wellness bonuses, and comprehensive employee assistance programs.
- Parental support with 12 weeks paid leave, IVF assistance, and phased return to work options.
- An annual professional development budget of $1000 and extensive internal growth opportunities.
- Flexible work arrangements emphasizing office presence with multiple beautiful hubs and support for individual scheduling preferences.
Additional Information
- Tracksuit fosters a pet-friendly office environment, welcoming occasional animal visitors.
- Recognized with multiple awards including Mumbrella Marketing Company of the Year 2022, HRD Employer of Choice 2024 (under 200 employees), NZ Hi Tech Awards Emerging Company of the Year 2024, and AFR Best Place to Work in Media and Marketing (4th place) 2024.
This high-impact position bridges analytics engineering and cross-functional collaboration, perfect for a professional eager to own analytics infrastructure within a fast-expanding global enterprise. Tracksuit values technical excellence, high standards, and the meaningful effect of data work.
During the hiring process, AI tools may be employed to assist in application review and assessment; however, all final decisions are human-led. Inquiries about data handling can be directed to the company.
