About the Role
The University of Auckland, New Zealand's foremost university and a significant employer supporting over 46,000 students, is looking to hire a Senior Admissions Adviser within the Department of Student Services. This position involves managing operational responsibilities associated with admissions while also spearheading continuous improvements in procedures and processes alongside the Admissions Team Leaders. Responsibilities include reviewing and recommending enhancements for admissions workflows, driving their implementation, and leading updates and approval of admissions content for online publication.
This role requires flexibility to work across various faculties and campuses, predominantly based at the City Campus. It is a fixed-term full-time role requiring 37.5 hours per week until the end of 2027. The salary band ranges from $73,400 to $77,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance admission processes and practices.
- Manage and approve accurate and timely publication of application and admission-related information on the university website.
- Develop and drive improvements in training related to admissions aligned with university strategic goals and KPIs.
- Collaborate across departments and faculties to facilitate admissions-related functions.
Candidate Profile and Skills
- Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to managing high-volume workloads.
- Experience working with policies and regulatory frameworks within admissions or related environments.
- Proven ability in building and maintaining effective stakeholder relationships at various levels.
Essential Knowledge and Experience
- Proficient in reporting and data analysis.
- Experience leading or contributing to continuous improvement projects.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and PeopleSoft software.
- Substantial expertise in using NARIC and Australian NOOSR databases for academic credential assessment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of New Zealand secondary school qualifications and admissions criteria.
- Expertise in academic qualification equivalence, assessment of academic attainment, and applying assessment outcomes per defined policies.
- Understanding of international English language proficiency tests and their relevance within New Zealand's admission context.
- Successful experience working collaboratively with diverse teams and implementing changes.
- Commitment to respecting and upholding the mana and tapu of individuals and communities (Kia Whakamana i te Tangata).

- A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent tertiary qualification.
