Overview
This is a remote Senior Accountant role with a U.S.-based team. The position is structured as a full-time engagement, with a weekly commitment ranging from 10 to 40 hours. Compensation is set at $110,000 to $150,000 per year.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of the month-end close cycle, including creating and recording journal entries, accruals, and other accounting adjustments.
- Keep the general ledger accurate and up to date by reviewing, reconciling, and clearing out mismatches as they arise.
- Draft monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with GAAP requirements.
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations and ensure every account is properly supported with documentation.
- Assist external audit work by assembling reconciliations, schedules, and backup records as needed.
- Look for opportunities to streamline the close process, shorten turnaround time, and improve accuracy.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required; CPA or CA certification is considered an advantage.
- At least 3 years of accounting experience, specifically involving general ledger work and month-end close.
- Practical experience using an ERP or accounting platform.
- Strong working knowledge of Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel.
- Solid understanding of GAAP, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Ability to work autonomously in a fast-moving startup environment while being fully remote.
