Satellite Mechanical Technician

Job Overview

Join a Satellite Assembly, Integration, and Testing (AIT) team where you will support both AIT engineers and technicians. This role primarily involves working within ISO7 or ISO8 cleanroom environments to assist in satellite mechanical assembly and integration tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform operations within controlled cleanroom environments (ISO7 or ISO8).
• Interpret and follow precise assembly instructions and procedures.
• Carry out mechanical integration by assembling electronic equipment, mechanisms, satellite structures, and components such as electrical and RF harnesses, thermal insulation, heaters, and metallic or composite supports.
• Execute bolted and bonded mechanical assemblies using specialized tools like torque wrenches and lifting equipment.
• Prepare and arrange materials and equipment to support a variety of mechanical, thermal, optical, and RF tests.
• Inspect and verify components and equipment before integration to ensure quality standards.
• Maintain thorough documentation for every stage of the integration process and report progress and anomalies accurately.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and bills of materials.
• Proven experience in assembling and integrating satellite equipment and structural components.
• Expertise in precision mechanical assembly techniques including fitting, torque tightening, and bonding.
• Capability to integrate electrical and RF harnesses such as waveguides and coaxial cables.
• Prior work experience in cleanroom environments.
• Strong discipline, organizational skills, and a collaborative team attitude.
• A minimum of two years of experience in Satellite AIT operations.
• English language proficiency at an upper-intermediate level (B2 or equivalent).
• Educational background including a Higher National Degree, Technical Degree, or equivalent in mechanics, microtechnologies, watchmaking, manufacturing, or related fields.
• At least five years of relevant experience, preferably with a minimum of two years in the space industry environment.
