About Central Land Council
The Central Land Council (CLC) is a statutory Commonwealth entity established by the Aboriginal Land Rights (Northern Territory) Act 1976. It advocates for Aboriginal landowners, native title holders, and other Indigenous people across the southern half of the Northern Territory, covering almost 780,000 square kilometers. The CLC offers advice, representation, and practical support to assist its communities in managing their lands, protecting their rights, and realising their aspirations.
Role Overview
The Risk Management Coordinator is a key role supporting the organisation-wide implementation and upkeep of the risk management framework. This position reports centrally and involves maintaining risk management systems, registers, performance indicators, and tools, while providing technical advice to staff. The role also supports the CLC’s Audit and Risk Committee through secretariat functions and contributes to internal quality improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and advise on the execution of the risk management framework across the CLC.
- Maintain and update risk registers, indicators, systems, and related tools.
- Provide expert guidance and support to staff on risk-related matters.
- Facilitate and provide secretariat support for the Audit and Risk Committee.
- Lead quality improvement efforts internally, fostering continuous development and capacity building.

Mandatory Requirements
- Possession of a valid Ochre card for working with vulnerable people.
- Current national police clearance.
- Valid driver's licence.
Remuneration and Benefits
- Starting base salary at AUD 115,873 per annum with classification banding negotiable depending on experience and skills, aligned with the CLC Enterprise Agreement guidelines.
- Tax-free salary packaging up to AUD 15,900 annually for living expenses and an additional AUD 2,650 for meal entertainment benefits, potentially increasing net income by AUD 3,000 to AUD 6,000 per year.
- Superannuation at 15.4% of salary.
- District and remote allowances of approximately AUD 3,910 per annum (single rate) or AUD 7,170 per annum (with dependents).
- Five weeks annual leave plus 17.5% leave loading and additional paid leave for Christmas and New Year shutdown.
- 18 days of personal/carer's leave along with cultural leave entitlements as per CLC Enterprise Agreement.
- Leave airfare allowance for travel.
- Relocation assistance and temporary subsidised accommodation for up to four months for eligible candidates moving to Alice Springs.
