Role Overview
This position involves being a mobile security officer providing support across multiple supermarket locations in and around Carmarthen, Wales. The role requires adaptable, professional individuals with a valid SIA licence and the flexibility to work varied shifts based on site demands. As a key player in safeguarding people, property, and inventory, the officer acts as a visible deterrent to retail crime while maintaining excellent customer service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a prominent security presence to discourage theft, disorderly conduct, and other store incidents.
- Perform regular patrols of sales areas, entrances, and external premises of stores.
- Monitor CCTV feeds continuously to spot suspicious behavior promptly.
- Respond swiftly and effectively to alarms, emergencies, and incidents as they arise.
- Conduct searches adhering strictly to company policies and legal guidelines.
- Collaborate with store management and local teams to mitigate risks and support loss prevention.
- Prepare clear and timely incident reports documenting events accurately.
- Provide an approachable and professional customer service experience, assisting customers when needed.
- Manage and defuse challenging or confrontational situations safely and calmly.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, legal requirements, and client-specific protocols.
- Travel between various sites as required and contribute to broader security operations.
Candidate Requirements
- Legal right to work in the UK and able to pass enhanced DBS and BS7858 security clearance checks.
- Possession of a current SIA licence for Door Supervisor or Security Guard roles and relevant prior security experience.
- Valid full UK driving licence and access to a personal vehicle.
- Experience in retail security or customer-facing roles is advantageous.
- Strong observational skills and capability for confident decision-making.
- Ability to handle conflict and confrontations with confidence.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A reliable, proactive demeanor with a professional attitude.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts across multiple locations including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
