Remote Industrial Estimator

Overview

Tri-City Group invites applications for the position of Industrial Estimator to contribute remotely or locally within the United States. The role involves the development of comprehensive estimates tailored to industrial projects across various manufacturing sectors.

Key Duties

• Participate in pre-bid conferences to clarify project scope and establish estimate contents
• Analyze specifications and project drawings to define work scope; perform quantity takeoffs, solicit vendor pricing, manage RFIs and RFQs
• Engage professionally with clients, subcontractors, general contractors, and internal teams
• Collaborate with Construction Services to furnish current CAD drawings and aid in shop drawing preparation as dictated by project criteria
• Offer technical guidance including drawing interpretation and recommendations on construction methodologies and equipment selection
• Liaise with Project Managers regarding collaboration with other divisions, project closures, contract follow-ups, and handling of extra work, change orders, and credits
• Travel as required for project needs

Qualifications

• Educational background: Bachelor’s degree in construction, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or completion of a 5-year electrical apprenticeship
• Experience: At least five years in estimating, cost control, or engineering roles within industrial or manufacturing environments such as automotive, steel/aluminum mills, chemical plants, food production, or water treatment facilities
• Abilities: High attention to detail, accuracy, effective communication, proactive judgment, problem-solving skills, deadline management, and multitasking with interpersonal sensitivity
