Role Overview
The Regional Sales Manager at Tesla holds a critical and multi-dimensional role aimed at driving operational success within a specific geographic area. This position requires managing revenue growth, enhancing customer satisfaction, and guiding long-term strategic initiatives to boost market share, brand presence, and overall profitability.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Recruit, hire, and onboard top-tier talent while leading and developing high-performing teams across retail, service, and Tesla Centers.
- Supervise people-leaders by fostering a culture of leadership excellence, overseeing training, career development, succession planning, and employee retention.
- Deliver hands-on coaching and real-time performance feedback directly at stores and delivery points, establishing clear team and individual objectives.
- Address and resolve customer issues proactively, ensuring compliance with safety and security standards in collaboration with Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) and Security Teams.
- Analyze sales reports and dashboards to inform strategic directions and refine operational processes.
- Apply in-depth knowledge of local market sales and DMV regulations, coordinating with fleet logistics to streamline sales and delivery workflows.
- Build and maintain strong interdepartmental relationships to develop effective market strategies and enhance commercial intelligence.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant professional experience.
- Proven leadership capabilities managing multiple projects and meeting critical business deadlines.
- Strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills combined with expertise in sales.
- Skillful in using data and logic alongside intuition to diagnose problems and implement viable solutions.
- Experience with complex process management, including Lean methodologies and prior Profit & Loss (P&L) responsibility.
- Ability to travel regularly, and physically accommodate an 8+ hour workday with adaptability for evenings and weekends.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license.
