Job description

Position Overview

SAIC is recruiting a Radio Frequency (RF) Engineer based in Riyadh and Al Jubail, Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia to support installation and integration of C4I System racks and components for the Royal Saudi Naval Forces (RSNF). The role operates within the Technical Support Center focusing on system communications verification, RF cabling, terminations, and operational testing during system installations on RSNF vessels, command centers, and training facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and evaluate Radio Frequency systems to support integration projects.
  • Conduct Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) surveys pre- and post-installation to establish and monitor EMI baselines.
  • Prepare detailed EMI summary reports including findings and recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams on system design, software installation, and equipment operational tests, identifying and resolving improvement areas.
  • During project lulls, fabricate test cables and prepare for upcoming project phases.
  • Investigate reported RF quality issues, document findings, and update related documentation as per approved corrective actions.
  • Maintain, repair and functionally test Radio communications equipment (UHF, VHF, HF, VSAT, UHF SATCOM, LINK-11/16) onshore and at sea platforms.
  • Utilize specialized diagnostic equipment and software to isolate faults and execute repairs following technical manuals and local procedures.
  • Carry out equipment modifications and installations per engineering change requests.
  • Conduct repairs and troubleshooting to component-level with proper ESD handling.
  • Perform soldering using 3M workstations or portable irons and conduct RF and fiber optic cable termination and testing.
  • Provide technical solutions to complex problems through comprehensive data analysis.
  • Interact frequently with internal organizations and external customers to deliver solutions on challenging technical issues related to projects.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree plus five years of relevant experience, or twelve years of experience without a degree.
  • Active U.S. Secret security clearance with maintenance capability; U.S. citizenship mandatory.
  • Proficiency in system hardware installation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Experience with radio systems such as UHF, VHF, HF, VSAT, KVH SATCOM, NTDS/TADIL Data Links.
  • Knowledge of networking including Cisco IOS, UPS systems like APC and Clary, GPS, CENTRIXS, GCCS-M/J, ADSI, SY-117G, and RF7800 radios.
  • Component-level troubleshooting and ESD-safe repairs.
  • Hands-on soldering using 3M stations or portable irons.
  • Test and configuration knowledge of KG-250 and related RF communication protection devices.
  • Fiber optic cable termination and testing capabilities.
  • Familiarity with Windows 7/10, Microsoft Office suite, AutoCAD, ADSI, CENTRIXS, GCCS-M/J software installations and configurations.

Additional Details

  • Position requires travel approximately 10% of the time.
  • The shift is a regular day job.
  • Minimum security clearance required is Secret.
  • Work location is hybrid between onsite and potential remote work in Saudi Arabia.
