Project Manager – Application Development

This role is offered through a partner organization seeking an experienced Project Manager specialized in Application Development, located in Canada. The position provides a unique opportunity to lead complex software projects from inception through successful execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the complete application development process from initial planning, gathering requirements, through to deployment and ongoing support.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation including schedules, budgets, milestones, and delivery timelines.
• Coordinate teamwork among developers, designers, quality assurance specialists, and business owners to ensure smooth progress.
• Define clear project boundaries, goals, deliverables, and success metrics aligned with business requirements.
• Track project advancements, identify potential risks early, and implement mitigation strategies to adhere to deadlines.
• Conduct regular progress meetings, provide transparent communication and updates to all stakeholders.
• Utilize project management methodologies and tools for efficient tracking of tasks, dependencies, and overall performance.
• Promote adoption of Agile, Scrum, or other relevant development practices to enhance team productivity and solution quality.
• Efficiently allocate resources and manage team priorities to meet project objectives.
• Ensure all development processes comply with industry standards, security protocols, and organizational policies.
• Perform post-project evaluations to capture insights and improve future project executions.
• Mentor and support team members by fostering collaboration, responsibility, and a culture of continuous improvement.

Candidate Requirements

• Demonstrated experience managing software application development projects within engineering or technology environments.
• Solid knowledge of software development lifecycles (SDLC) and project management frameworks such as Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall.
• Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines.
• Strong leadership qualities with effective team motivation and cross-functional coordination skills.
• Familiarity with tools like Jira, Trello, Microsoft Project, or equivalents for project tracking.
• Excellent skills in organization, communication, and problem resolution.
• Competence in risk assessment and effective mitigation planning.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and perform well under pressure.
• Understanding of best practices in software development and delivery standards.
• Sharp analytical and strategic thinking abilities with close attention to detail.
• Experience managing remote or geographically distributed teams is advantageous.
• Knowledge of cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure, and experience with DevOps practices is beneficial.
• Awareness of UI/UX design principles, front-end technologies, database management, and data integration is a plus.
