Role overview

In this position, you will manage process engineering support for Worley and its clients, with possible technical support responsibilities within the Process team. The role requires coordination across multiple engineering disciplines and close alignment with client expectations, project requirements, and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering work so that projects are delivered safely, efficiently, within budget, and on schedule.
• Serve as the main technical point of contact for the client and ensure expectations are understood and met.
• Confirm that the project follows the approved Basis of Design, Project Execution Plan, and all relevant codes and regulatory requirements.
• Keep health, safety, and environmental requirements embedded in design and procurement activities and provide visible safety leadership to the team.
• Develop and maintain constructive client relationships while resolving scope, schedule, and performance concerns proactively.
• Manage budgets effectively across the assigned scope.
• Ensure compliance with WPMP, the Project Execution Plan, and contract obligations, while applying change control properly.
• Make sound independent decisions on complex matters, balancing cost, quality, and schedule impacts.
• Assign project tasks, guide team members technically, and monitor execution against objectives and priorities.
• Help build the overall project schedule and oversee design, procurement, and construction work to meet it.
• Track cost performance, identify possible overruns, and take corrective action early.
• Support quality compliance and use company engineering and procurement systems and procedures effectively.
• Lead and motivate the project team, set clear targets, remove blockers, and address performance gaps.
• Promote continuous improvement across the project and program.
• Ensure the design team works to customer specifications, applicable standards, and regulations.
• Coordinate project execution controls and regular progress reviews.
• Develop and use project schedules and resource plans to manage delivery.
• Translate contract scope into Worley deliverables and service requirements.
• Build trust with customer technical counterparts, vendors, and suppliers, and communicate progress and issues transparently.
• Provide regular reports to operations leadership and deliver timely updates to the Manager of Projects and other stakeholders.
• Monitor risks and opportunities through to closure.
• Resolve technical disagreements between the design team and the customer in coordination with the Project Engineer.
• Review procurement activities to ensure materials and services meet specifications, arrive on time, and stay within budget.

Requirements

• Proven background leading a discipline design and engineering team.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict management abilities.
• Diversity-oriented candidates are preferred.
• Site experience is desirable but not mandatory.
• Typically around 10 years of engineering experience, including more than 3 years in technical coordination, engineering interface coordination, supervision, or management.
• Experience in engineering management and E/EP project work is expected.
• Good understanding of company management systems, knowledge systems, processes, and tools.
• Ability to support others and diagnose issues effectively.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint.
• A relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification is required.
• PMP certification is preferred.
• Minimum 20 years of industry experience is stated for qualification.
