Project Coordinator (Civil)

Role overview

Maple Reinders Constructors is hiring a Project Coordinator to support its Civil Construction team in Calgary or Edmonton, Alberta. This position offers the chance to contribute to major civil water and wastewater work across Alberta, while building experience toward a future Project Manager role.

What you will do

In this role, you will assist Project Managers with the coordination and administration of heavy civil and industrial projects. You will help keep work organized through documentation, estimating, budgeting, scheduling, and day-to-day project support. The position also provides exposure to multiple contract models, including Design-Build, Plan and Spec, and Construction Management.

Your work will help keep projects on track, profitable, aligned with specifications, and delivered with a strong emphasis on quality and site safety.

Key duties

• Contribute to heavy civil and industrial project delivery.
• Support budget preparation, construction scheduling, and setup of project administrative records.
• Under guidance from the Project Manager, manage outgoing and incoming correspondence with owners, architects, engineers, sub-trades, and suppliers.
• Learn how suppliers and sub-trades are selected and how quotations are gathered.
• Help define and clarify scope with sub-trades and suppliers when needed.
• Build productive relationships with current and potential clients, consultants, realtors, and developers.
• Maintain a strong focus on site safety and comply with regulatory requirements and the company’s health and safety policy.
• Attend site meetings and help close out project deficiencies.
• Support tender closing activities alongside senior managers.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should already have some project coordination experience in construction and show the ambition to grow into a Project Manager position. A background in civil engineering or construction management is preferred, although a comparable mix of education and field experience will also be considered. Experience on water or wastewater projects is a strong advantage.

Compensation

The annual salary range for this role is CAD 70,000 to CAD 90,000, depending on experience.

Location

This position is based in Calgary, Alberta or Edmonton, Alberta.
